Profile
Jonathan commenced pupillage in October 2025 and is currently completing his 2nd six. Jonathan is accepting instructions in Private Law, Public Law and family Finance cases.
Jonathan successfully completed the Bar Course at the Inns of Court College of Advocacy in July 2025. Jonathan is undertaking a pupillage in Family Law and his pupil supervisor is Mr Liam Gribbin.
As a career-changer, Jonathan initially completed his PhD in molecular biology at the University of Plymouth and worked as a researcher at the University of Exeter investigating gene regulation in the developing human brain. After developing an interest in neurodiversity and mental health and wanting to have a more direct impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals, Jonathan completed a PgDL Law Conversion with the University of Law in 2024 in order to pursue a career in law.
While studying Part One of the Bar Course, Jonathan worked as a paralegal with Womble Bond Dickinson handling case work in civil proceedings for corporate clients. Additionally, Jonathan sat as a Family Magistrate on the South and West Devon Family Bench, gaining experience of public and private family proceedings, and was commended for his thorough preparation and insight.
