Success for Deni Mathews and Michael Green

Acquittals at Court Martial Trials

Deni Mathews appeared before a Courts Martial in Catterick. Three Royal Marines faced allegations arising from an alleged inter service assault whilst personnel were posted to Cyprus. Deni’s client was acquitted of the allegation by a board of 6 after a trial lasting one week. The case involved interesting issues as whether or not a joint enterprise had been established

Michael Green successfully defended a Royal Navy Senior Rating at a Court Martial sitting at Bulford Military Court Centre.

Michael’s client was charged with Battery and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm. The trial was heard by a Judge Advocate and a six member Board of Officers. The client always maintained he had acted in self defence during the incident, and was acquitted of both charges.

Chambers regularly represents service personnel in Courts Martial. The criminal team within chambers has members with service experience in the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Marines.
