Success for Francesca Whebell and Chris Cuddihee

Chris Cuddihee and Francesca Whebell were both successful in appeals of sentences at the Court of Appeal

Chris Cuddihee and Francesca Whebell were both successful in appeals of sentences at the Court of Appeal. Their clients were sentenced for their role in the cultivation of a significant quantity of cannabis. The original sentencing Judge found that there were elements of significant role in passing sentence. They both argued that they should have been treated as falling fully within a lesser role on the guidelines and that no features of significant role were present. This was accepted and the sentences of 20 months and 19 months were reduced to sentences of 8 months and 7 months respectively.
