Acquittals for Katie Churcher, Hollie Gilbery & Michael Green

After a five day trial at Plymouth Crown Court, Katie Churcher secured an acquittal for a young defendant accused of wounding and threatening with a knife. The offences involved an alleged stabbing of her ex partner which the Defendant had maintained has been accidental in the course of being threatened herself.

Hollie Gilbery represented a youth accused of multiple serious sexual offences. He was neuro divergent with significant speech and language difficulties and required the assistance of an intermediary throughout the trial. After a trial lasting two days before the District Judge, Hollie's client was acquitted of both charges.

Michael Green successfully defended a Royal Navy Chief Petty Officer before a Court Martial at Bulford Military Court Centre this week. The client was charged with a Service Disciplinary Offence relating to an incident in 2023. The client had strongly denied the allegation throughout. The trial was heard by a Judge Advocate and a 3 member Board of Officers. The Court heard evidence from Service Personnel witnesses in the UK and abroad. Character evidence was called to support the client’s case. The Board returned a Not Guilty verdict after deliberating for 2 hours.
