Lewis Aldous secures acquittal following a trial for multiple historic rapes and child sexual offences.
The complainant alleged that the Defendant had raped her repeatedly over a period of around three years. It was also alleged that the Defendant incited the complainant, a child aged between 13-15, to engage in sexual activity and that he had sexual activity with the same child. There was also a single allegation that the Defendant had exposed himself. The defence called an unused prosecution witness to give evidence who was able to cast doubt on the detail of the allegations. The Defendant, after forty-four minutes, was unanimously acquitted by the jury on every count.
