Jonathan Davies and Imogen Ryan attended their first Advocacy Weekend run by the Western Circuit
Our pupils Jonathan Davies and Imogen Ryan attended their first Advocacy Weekend run by the Western Circuit in Bristol Crown Courts over the weekend. This is compulsory training for all pupils, but it allows them to gain essential practice in drafting skeleton arguments, making applications, examination in chief, cross examination and final submissions. All of this while being coached and encouraged by leading barristers, silks, and judges from across the region.
Both our pupils have said they had an amazing time on the weekend and that the training was invaluable. Not only was it hard work, but the pupils get a chance to network with other pupils across the Western Circuit to compare notes, and build life-long friendships and working relationships. They also both enjoyed a rare opportunity (as family pupils) to dress up in court attire for the weekend.
