Success at the Court of Appeal for Chris Cuddihee

On Friday Chris Cuddihee attended the Court of Appeal where he successfully appealed a clients sentence.
The defendant was convicted of ABH and two counts of Assault on an Emergency Worker and sentenced to consecutive sentences totalling 5 years imprisonment plus a 1-year extended sentence, the sentencing judge having assessed him as “dangerous”. The Court of Appeal allowed his appeal on the ground the sentencing judge was wrong to sentence consecutively because that led to a sentence which was not just and proportionate, and meant the overall sentence was manifestly excessive. The Court reduced the sentence to a total of 3 years 6 months.
