Children Public Law

In public law, William represents local authorities, parents and guardians in the FPC, County Courts and High Court. William is instructed in a broad range of cases including emergency protection orders, child abduction, care cases, adoption, inter country adoptions and illegal inter country adoptions.

These cases have as their subject matter all forms of physical harm, emotional harm and mental illness. Many of the cases require an understanding of complex medical evidence both in relation to physical injury (shaken babies, sexual abuse etc) and in relation to mental illness and personality disorders.

While, in care work, representation of parents has tended to predominate - his reputation for thorough cross-examination and robust analysis of the evidence, making him a first choice for solicitors representing clients facing serious allegations - William is also instructed regularly on behalf of Guardians and Local Authorities.
