Another significant project for Stephen during this period was coordinating work with police and other partners on a new strategy for tackling domestic abuse in the city.

As a caseworker at Citizens Advice Southampton, Stephen advised clients on a wide range of issues including debt, welfare benefits, housing and employment. Stephen also delivered training for colleagues and local partner organisations.

Having secured a 2:1 in Law from the University of Southampton, Stephen achieved an Outstanding in the BPTC and was called to the Bar in 2021.

Stephen is available for instruction in a range of civil matters from 2 April 2024,having enjoyed working with KBG’s civil team to develop his knowledge and skills in his first six. He is well equipped to take on fast track and small claims trials, possession claims ,stage 3 hearings, return of goods, infant settlements and interim applications.

In the small claims court Stephen has previously appeared on behalf of clients in RTA claims, private parking charges, PPI Plevin, claims involving builders and other contractual disputes. Stephen’s wider non-legal experience means he is particularly able to view situations from a commercial perspective.
