Charlotte Pickering represents Cornwall Council at sex shop Licensing Appeal

30th September 2013

Charlotte appeared on behalf of the Council at a one day appeal hearing in Truro Magistrates Court. One of Cornwall's two sex shops sought to appeal the decision of the Council not to vary the CCTV condition in its licence. The Council argued that its decision was justified. Judgment has been reserved and will be handed down on 28th October.

Ali Rafati and Nicholas Lewin successfully argued before the Court of Appeal Criminal Division (Lord Justice LEVESON - chair of the Sentencing Council) that sentences imposed by two young men of impeccable character were manifestly excessive.
